WHAT IS A HOME CELL?

A home cell is a small group meeting of members of the same church which takes place during the week in a house with the purpose of fellowship, bible study, prayer, evangelism and showing of love and care for one another in an area or community.

WHEN DID THE ROLL-OUT OF THE HOME CELL COMMENCE?

The roll-out of Home Cell commenced in August 2017

WHAT ARE THE BIBLICAL BASIS FOR HOME CELL?

The scriptures are abundantly clear about the fact that the early Christian church gathered not only in the temple but also in houses as evident in the following selected scriptures:

Acts 2:46 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart…”

Acts 5:42 “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

Acts 20:20 “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house…”

Philemon 1:2 “And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thy house…”

Romans 16:5 “Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.”

IS THE HOME CELL A DEPARTMENT?

No. Home Cell is not one of the traditional departments of the Church. It is the lifeline of the Church – i.e. the health and strength of the Church is derived from the Home Cells

I ALREADY BELONG TO A DEPARTMENT OF THE CHURCH. SHOULD I JOIN THE HOME CELL?
