Romans 13:11-14
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

One of my favorite themes for today is the Second Coming of Christ. Most pastors are preparing their congregations to have possessions here on earth and be acknowledged as wealthy people. Wealth is good and no one can argue about that. People who talk as if poverty is okay have not understood the God we are serving.

Nevertheless, the whole idea where our preaching and teaching is devoid of the reality of the Second coming of Christ is even more dangerous than poverty on earth. Someone who we see as poor by our standards but rich towards God will have a part in the rapture when Jesus comes and those who are rich towards worldliness will be left behind. This is not my teaching; it is God’s truth.

The other reality that is frightening is that the coming of Jesus is closer than we first believed. Noah built his ark amidst jeering and mockery from those around until the rains came down. Remember Jesus said that His coming will be like the days of Noah. He that is wise, let him hear what the Spirit is saying today. Be ready.

1. Thank God again this morning for the promise of the second coming of Jesus Christ; not as a child but as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
2. Pray that you will occupy till He comes and be not fondly wanting.
3. Father, above all that I receive from You, please let me be constantly mindful of Jesus’ second coming and show commitment through my life.

I declare my faith in the second coming of Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords. My heart is totally yielded to the rapture and what it means to the world. I declare by divine authority that I am a watchful Christian, I choose to live holy, and henceforth I continue in God’s commands as I wait for the second coming of our Lod Jesus Christ.
