22 Mar BEARING HIS NATURE
2 Peter 1:2-4
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and Godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
If you conduct simple research by asking a hundred Christians what can be the greatest thing that can ever happen to a Christian, you will get a lot of different answers, I am sure the top ones will be the demonstration of power, particularly for those who are seeking to be on the stage and billboards, then material prosperity which of late has become the measure of a person’ Christianity. Having God’s divine nature is not top of the list.
Becoming wealthy has taken center stage in Christianity today. Everyone is being drawn into that. Even the most spiritual Christian is tempted to think of their faith in God by how much they have prospered. Whatever they preach ends up in the next car that is waiting for you, your promotion in the office that is pending, your next house, and some even promise a jet if you can only have faith.
What about the privilege of carrying in your being the pure, unadulterated divine nature of God; a nature that cannot be corrupted? That does not look attractive because that does not immediately put you on the billboards and in the media. That, however, is the greatest God offers us – to become like Him in all things. That is your heritage so strive to maintain your faith in the indwelling of Christ in you.
1. Thank God for His holy nature that He is offering you as your inheritance in Christ.
2. Pray for grace to cherish being like God and for the strength to walk and live like Christ.
3. Father, please let Your Holy Spirit continue to work on me till I possess Your full divine nature.
I declare today that I have the divine nature of God. It is my portion by inheritance from Calvary. I refuse to operate under the law of sin and death. My heart is open for the Holy Spirit to work on me. I shall be like my Lord Jesus Christ in the fullness when all is done in the name of Jesus.
