1 Peter 2:19-21
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

The immediate thought that comes to mind concerning Jesus’ coming into this world is to die in our place so we can be free from sin and all its consequences. That is a remarkable observation and a very true one as such. There however is another dimension of Jesus’ coming which is equally important, especially since we are not raptured out of this earth the moment we give our lives to Christ. We have to live in this world till God’s time for us comes – either He takes us or the Second Coming of Jesus meets us.

How do we live our lives on earth as we wait for that glorious moment all believers are looking forward to? It is simple – follow in the footsteps of Jesus. There is nothing any person is involved in that lessons cannot be taken from God’s word. For example, although He did not marry Jesus demonstrated the greatest principle that can keep all marriages intact – unconditional love. He did not do business but taught principles that can make any business prosper according to God’s will.

This is my proposition. If you can only see the footsteps of Jesus when you close your eyes and can plant your footsteps in His, you do not need to look where you are going, you will be okay. Just try that!

1. Thank God that apart from Jesus dying on the cross for us to save us, He demonstrated for us how to live to please God.
2. Ask for the grace to see the footsteps of Jesus and also plant yours in them.
3. Father, please help me by the Holy Spirit to live my life exactly like Jesus would have lived it if He were here.

I thank God for the exemplary life of Jesus Christ. His life is my example and the ultimate pattern for me. I choose to walk in His footsteps, therefore, I shall never go astray. No evil shall befall me, no demon from hell can entrap and overcome me because my steps are firmly planted in pathways of Christ. I declare l am safe and secure in the name of Jesus.
