DEFEAT IS NEVER YOUR PORTION

DEFEAT IS NEVER YOUR PORTION

Micah 7:8-9

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me. 9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon His vindication.

Can you imagine a boxing fight in which one boxer who was taller, stouter and more heavily built was pitched against a less stocky opponent slightly lower in weight? Through the earlier rounds this second opponent took heavy blows from the stockier boxer. He fell once and got up at the count of seven. The second time he got up at the count of nine. Somehow, in the following round, this boxer who had been down twice threw a powerful left hook that sent the opponent down. His opponent could not make the count of ten and the fight was over. He won!

The Christian life is like fighting in a boxing ring against a strong opponent. A number of times one may give in to a temptation and fall. There have been reported experiences of people who often were down with one temptation or the other and still got up to continue. As a Christian, it is not how often you fall but how quickly you rise up to continue fighting.
To say that difficulties will not come your way is a lie. To say that you will experience victory in all situations all the time is a possibility. That should be your mindset. Identify ways in which as a Christian you can arm yourself to minimize falling, and also rise up as often as you fall.

Prayer

1. Praise the Lord who causes you to rise when you fall and does not give you away to your enemies.
2. Ask God for increased favor that you will always walk in this life head up and chest out because of your God.
3. Father, please help me stay in you, so my enemies will never triumph over me and ridicule Your holy name.

Declarations

I declare that my God is greater than all. He holds me in this life so I am secure. I may fall once in a while, but I shall rise again because my Father has power to keep me up. My enemies will not rejoice over me because of my weaknesses and limitations. Elohim shall cover me totally in His love and He will pull me through every challenge in the name of Jesus.
