Acts 17:30-31

30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed; and of this He has given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead.”

One of the characteristics of the last days is the onset of deception. Deception permeates both simple things of this life as well as the complex ones. You probably have heard people say, “eat and drink for tomorrow we die”. They got one part of the statement but did not get the whole picture.

Yes death awaits everyman born out of Adam. It is only a question of when, not if death will come. The part that the saying gets wrong is that people think when they die then everything comes to an end. When you die, you are actually beginning a new life beyond the physical. The reality is that there are two places for humanity to choose – either with God in heaven or with the devil in hell.

The Bible teaches that the separation of who lives in heaven and who lives outside heaven happens at the judgment throne of God. The Holy Spirit wants us to know that Jesus Christ our Lord is the One who is going to separate the righteous from the unrighteous. There is judgement after death and we all shall give account of how we lived our lives on earth.
Instead of people trying to sound like no judgement exits, they should think of how ready they are to appear before God in judgement. How ready are you? According to today’s passage God has made Jesus the Judge before whom all must appear after death to account for how they lived their lives on earth.

1. Thank God for making provision for us to safely go through the judgement that awaits all men.
2. Pray for wisdom to walk in God’s commandments and laws in order to be declared righteous on the day of judgement.
3. Father, please help me to order my life here in accordance with Your commandments.

I declare that I am redeemed by the blood of Christ, my sins are forgiven. I am made the righteousness of God and I have a place by God’s side in the life to come. I will not be condemned in the future judgement. I choose to order my life here in all righteousness and I declare by divine authority that I shall not be confounded.
